Royal College of Art – Design to tender in two weeks
When the Royal College of Art needed a fast project turnaround they asked for Tricon’s help. With just a two-week time slot from being appointed to releasing the project for tender, Tricon’s team were able to develop and complete the design of the coffee bar and support area, working together with the client and the architect’s iDEA.
The Royal College of Art is the world’s leading university of art and design and is opening of a new hub for communication, architecture and humanities and their integrated practices this autumn. This work was completed as part of this project and is located in the regenerated BBC headquarters in White City forming London’s newest research and creative quarter.
A key element of Tricon’s consultancy services is their ability to quickly assemble the necessary team and to apply that resource to meet the client’s overall project timescale. The RCA project team was led by Project Director Jason Farrer and the supply and installation work was completed by Shines with the counter manufactured by Proline
Commenting on the project Jason Farrer said, “All thought the time scale was tight we worked swiftly with the Architect to produce a coordinated design and package to enable the client to tender the works and complete the installation within the required building programme.”
Tricon have a huge depth of experience in the education sector and have worked for many of the world’s leading colleges and universities including St John’s College Cambridge, LSE, Oxford Brookes University and the University of Dubai.
