Nusr-Et Steakhouse – Abu Dhabi

Tricon Foodservice Consultants was appointed by Doğuş Restaurant Entertainment and Management (d.ream) as specialist consultant responsible for delivering and overseeing the food service design for the exciting new Nusr-Et, Abu Dhabi. The appointment was made through d.ream’s Dubai office with the mission of becoming a hallmark institution known for innovative approaches that add value to the entertainment industry. This project required Tricon’s Dubai team to design and coordinate the delivery of the food and beverage design elements of the renowned Nusr-et Steak House at Galleria Mall, adjacent to the Four Seasons Hotel, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi.

The Nusr-Et Steak House concept was developed in Turkey by Nusr-Et Gokce, the viral sensation and man behind the Salt Bae Memes. His signature tight, white t-shirts and chiselled frame, along with jet black hair slicked back into a ponytail, makes him stand out from the crowd especially when performing his signature move; drizzling salt flakes down his bent-at-the-elbow, forearm to put the final bit of seasoning on his perfectly-cooked steaks. This technique is now copied across the world by footballers and stars alike who were entertained by Gokce’s style. The passion that oozes out of Gokce is what makes him so memorable. He clearly loves his steaks and when you step inside one of his restaurants, he’s going to make sure you do, too.

The scope of works required Tricon to familiarise themselves with the Nusr-Et concept’s Turkish origins, Tricon had responsibility for the design and construction supervision of the overall food and beverage scope. Tricon researched the concept in detail and met with regularly with Gokce, who approved the designs throughout. The unique nature of the concept, with its open charcoal grill, presented its own challenges in respect to the services required to deliver a theatrical experience and, as much, the need to appease the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority requirements. Tricon’s role, having developed an approved design, was to facilitate the tender process and ensure the selected contractor delivered the installation and fit-out in line with Tricon’s and Nusr-Et Gokce’s design.
