ME by Melia, Malta

The Mercury Towers in Malta is a stunning new development situated next to the picturesque coastline of St. Julian’s. Acting as an anchor to the new public space quarter featuring restaurants, cafes and entertainment facilities, the Mercury Towers consists of two distinct towers containing a new luxury ME by Melia Hotel, Residential Apartments and Retail Outlets, with the base of the buildings ‘twisting’ into the upper levels that defies the conventional rules of engineering.

Tricon were appointed to this prestigious project to undertake designs for the kitchen facilities. Due to the remarkable design of the exteriors, the space outlined for the Hotel’s main kitchen in the basement was complex; a series of triangles and trapeziums that needed to include a main commissary, banqueting kitchen and various food and beverage supporting spaces. The ME by Melia also features a bespoke baking & pastry kitchen, rooftop bar, all-day dining restaurant and casual restaurant for guests to enjoy a range of culinary experiences.

Thanks to the innovative thinking of Tricon’s design team, we were able to ensure suitable space for all food and beverage elements requested without any compromise to the client’s brief, saving enough space to also include a uniform issue next to the staff dining facilities.
