Tricon was appointed to develop the initial Food & Beverage (F&B) Strategy and full Design Services for three of Expo’s main pavilions; namely the Mobility Pavilion, Sustainability Pavilion and the Leadership Pavilion.
Tricon’s team worked on the Mobility Pavilion alongside Foster + Partners Architects’ London studio and our scope covered the main kitchen, a 368-cover café on the Lower Ground Floor and the Ground Floor VIP Hospitality Lounge as well as numerous kiosks throughout the Pavilion, each with its own brief, theme and menu. The Sustainability Pavilion, where we worked alongside Grimshaw Architects’ New York office, also comprised a casual dining operation, F&B kiosks as well as a VIP Hospitality and Roof Terrace restaurant. Finally, for the Leadership Pavilion, working with Smith Gill Architecture in Chicago, our scope included a complex series of support pantries and kitchens to support the Royal Majlis and Royal Dining Room as well as a small Hospitality Majlis and Hospitality Dining for 24 guests.
In preparation for Dubai Expo, Tricon was also appointed to develop the strategy and designs for a number of country’s pavilions. These projects were management-led, and involved our management consultants receiving outline briefs from each of the clients’ teams and developing these in to detailed F&B operating and design briefs that could be taken forward by the separate countries’ design partners.
