Tricon have had a long term relationship with the bank which originally started in 2008. We were commissioned to deliver a foodservice design for one of the major central London offices Premier Place. This then evolved into Tricon supporting the banks real estate team with the designs for 14 of their UK properties both existing and new including the widely acclaimed RBS world headquarters at Gogarburn, Scotlannd. The challenge was to deliver something that was regionally appropriate for each site but respected the common thread of design principles that had been established nationally.

Tricon were appointed by RBS to provide specialist advice and assistance in the re-tendering of its contracts to provide catering services and front of house services in support of the RBS team. The existing contract encompassed some 60 sites across the UK and Ireland but it was re-tendered as a number of separate packages, with tenderers invited to bid for one or more of the elements. This comprised:

● Ulster Bank (2 sites)
● Insurance (12 – 15 sites)
● RBS (39 sites)

We provided specialist support in undertaking the following activities:

● Determination of contract strategy and most appropriate and beneficial contract pricing arrangements
● Development of Commercial Tables, i.e. development of financial workbooks for each contract/site in Microsoft excel together with necessary instructions for completion.
● Evaluation of tendered financial submissions.
● Final contract negotiation in conjunction with RBS procurement and RBS specialist departments

In addition, we provided “ad-hoc” support to the RBS team in other facets of the procurement process as required.
