As well as working with the Historic Dockyard on its food & beverage strategy, Tricon has supported the naval dockyard on the letting of its cleaning and waste management contracts. The naval dockyard is the country’s largest operational naval base and is home to supply ships, submarines and warships as well as the building of warships. We worked with a waste management specialist for the handling of waste streams such as those coming off nuclear submarines and frigates.

Tricon also advised Fleet Support at the Portsmouth Naval Base on the re-structuring and tendering of its cleaning and waste management contracts. Both specifications were reviewed to optimise the cost of the service without a drop in standards. An objective of the new waste management contract was to increase the level of recycling and maximise potential rebate income from recycled materials.
