Café from Crisis - East meets east at Kheera Kitchen

Café from Crisis,  the national charity for homeless people, has launched  the new fresh Indian pop-up restaurant, Kheera Kitchen as an evening residency at their café venue in the Commercial Road, London E1.  In partnership with the Crisis team, Kheera is serving customers healthy, fresh Indian food, whilst supporting Crisis’ work to help homeless people get back into employment.

As part of Tricon’s on-going support for Café from Crisis, Paul Greenwood attended the opening evening where the food concepts have been inspired by a motorbike ride across India and re-interpreted for Londoners. All food is made with carefully sourced ingredients to deliver lighter, clean tastes that are big on flavour, and not on heat.  “We tried  a number of the dishes on the menu, starting with the Aloo Tikki and the Mackerel Fish fry which were both wonderfully light and cooked to perfection.  For the mains, we tried the melt-in-the-mouth slow roasted lamb and the Keralan Pork bowl, both dishes were beautifully balanced and packed full of incredible flavours”.

Kheera Kitchen will pop-up at Café from Crisis every evening from 6pm Wednesday to Friday, and from midday at weekends from 20th January until the end of April. Find them at 64 Commercial Street, London E1 6LT
